Getting to it
The north-western corner of the island, where the lava coast forms natural pools that the municipality has enclosed and operates as a bathing complex. The road in is the north coast road or the tunnel route from São Vicente.
Public transport
Public transport to the municipality is operated by Rodoeste on two lines: line 80 to Porto Moniz, and line 139 to Santa by way of São Vicente. The municipality falls in fare zone H. Times, fares and frequency are the operator's and change.
Mobility
The municipality states that the solarium area of the bathing complex includes access for people with reduced mobility, and that reduced-price admission applies to disabled visitors. The rock coast outside the complex is not that.

Safety

Cliffs and rock platforms — Can cause serious injury or death

Atlantic swell arrives on this corner of the island with no shelf to dissipate it and breaks over the lava platform outside the pools, which are separated from it by very little.

What reduces it: Check swell rather than wind. Watch the platform for a sustained period before committing to it, and treat the calm inside the pools as no information at all about the rock beyond them.
