Four tools here, and each one earns its place the same way: it shows its working, it says what it does not know, and it is derived from the catalogue rather than from a private table that could quietly disagree with it. Unit conversion is exact arithmetic on defined constants. The knot and rig selectors filter records on fields those records already carry, print the reason for every result, and refuse to rank. The authority finder names bodies and never states a rule.
What is NOT here matters as much. There is no best-bait selector, no catch predictor, no solunar score and no permission calculator, because each would produce a confident output with nothing behind it — and a confident wrong answer in this domain reaches weighting belts, launch decisions and enforcement officers.
The planned tools below each say what is blocking them, which is a more useful thing to publish than a greyed-out button.

Location explorer
Publicly documented fishing places near a town, ordered by distance and filtered by quarry, discipline and water. Built in Sprint 48, when the location dataset finally carried positions, parents and a resolvable authority for every record. It ranks nothing, recommends nothing and states no permission — the order is distance, which is a measurement rather than an opinion.

Blocked on: There is no cross-manufacturer hook size standard to source. Sizes are pattern-relative, the only available data are individual makers' charts, and reproducing one would present a single company's convention as an industry fact. The honest form of this is an explainer about why the numbering does not travel, not a converter.
Fish weight estimator
Estimated weight from length, where the relationship is scientifically defensible.
Blocked on: Checked against the live FishBase extraction in Sprint 50: it holds maximum and common length, maximum weight and maximum age, and no length–weight coefficients. The a and b of W = aL^b must be sourced per species with the population and the length convention — total, fork or standard — recorded with them, because mixing conventions produces a confident number that is quietly wrong.
Rod and casting weight matcher
Whether a given terminal weight suits a rod's stated rating.
Blocked on: Rod ratings are manufacturer claims with no standard behind them, and the conventions differ by market — ounces of lead, grams of lure, power-and-action classes — so a tool taking a number and returning a verdict would be silently assuming which convention the reader meant. The honest form is an explainer, not a matcher.
