Your fishing journal

Log your trips — where, what you caught, how, and what to change next time. Kept in this browser only: no account, and nothing is sent to FishingHQ.

Your entries

Nothing yet. Entries you save appear here, newest first, and stay in this browser.

Keep a copy, or move it to another device

Your journal and tackle box are kept together in this browser. A copy is a file on your device; it is yours to look after, and anybody who has it can read it.

Where your notes are kept

In this browser’s own storage, on this device, and nowhere else. FishingHQ has no account to hold them and receives nothing you type here; analytics, if you allowed it, records only that the journal was used. Another browser or device will not see them unless you download a copy and bring it back there. Clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes them, and so does the delete button. More in privacy and cookies and local storage.

No map position is kept: the place is whatever name you write. A downloaded or printed copy is yours to look after, and anybody who has it can read it, so keep marks you want private out of anything you share. Photographs are not stored — a browser keeps little, and a photograph often carries the position it was taken at.

Conditions are what you noted; the journal fetches no tide, weather or river reading. For what a condition changes, see what the conditions mean. To plan the next trip, the trip planner can hand its plan to a new entry, and your tackle box keeps the kit you can tick against each trip.
